We are thrilled to be a finalist for the Hesta Excellence Awards in the Outstanding Organisation Community Services category. The HESTA Excellence Awards recognise exceptional achievements in a range of settings across aged care, allied health, community services and disability services.
The Outstanding Organisation category recognises an organisation that has excelled in delivering initiatives to enhance the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and/or communities. The HESTA Award Winners will be announced on Wednesday 25 August 2021
For Share the Dignity to be a HESTA awards finalist with other such incredible organisations is really humbling. We started just six years ago as a grassroots community, we are moving towards our goal of being a nationally recognised charity.
We know that 25% of women have gone without access to period products at some point. For us to be recognised and celebrated in this way is such a win for the awareness of our mission, and impact. It will amplify our messaging to help us reach the organisations and charities, and in turn the women who can access the support.
This prize money would directly support our key collections, Dignity Drives, It’s in the Bag and our Dignity Vending Machines, which ensures we continue to meet the demands of the community.
It is unbelievably rewarding to help share the dignity that so many of us take for granted to Australians who need and deserve it. We work with thousands of charities across the country to provide period products and our #ItsInTheBag donations to women, girls and those who menstruate.
We are so proud of the amazing community of volunteers, known as Sheroes and Heroes, we have at Share the Dignity, and it is so special to see the relationships that have been forged through a shared commitment to making the world a better place.
