Imagine fleeing domestic violence just before Christmas with nothing but the clothes on your back, or spending Christmas in a homeless shelter.
#ItsintheBag is Share the Dignity’s annual campaign where we encourage Australians to donate bags filled with essential items, for women, girls, those who menstruate, and new or expectant mums who are in need for Christmas.
The bags are dropped off at Bunnings Warehouse locations across the country by generous Aussies, such as yourself, and are distributed to our 3,000 charity partners. These charities gift the donated bags to people in need for Christmas. Collections points for 2026 will be open at every Bunnings Warehouse nationwide from 6 – 22 November 2026.
We’d love for you to help us spread the message of #ItsintheBag and we’ve tried to make it as simple as possible by preparing you with a social media toolkit.
How do you donate bags?
Find a new or pre-loved bag in good condition
Fill the bag with essential items – shampoo, conditioner, roll-on deodorant, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste and period products
Add in some extra special gifts like moisturisers, sunglasses or sunscreen, and a handwritten note
Tell your followers about It’s in the Bag, using our social handles and hashtags
Take your bag to your closest Bunnings Warehouse store between 14th-30th November 2025

Content ideas to get your creative cogs turning
If you’re wanting to mix it up from sharing what you’re packing this year, here’s some ideas to start with..
Bag edit: swap your ‘what’s in my bag’ for a ‘what’s in her bag’. Record yourself packing an It’s in the Bag donation and why it matters to you.
Personalised card: share what heartfelt words you have written on your handwritten card. For an extra cute addition, get your kids involved and have them read out what inspiring message they are giving to the bag’s recipient.
Kid’s voiceover: have your child help pick the items for your bag then do the voiceover. A super cute way to get the word out; be sure to include the official shopping list for this one.

Get crafty: host a cute DIY packing and nibblies event with friends. (Think: pinot gris & dignity, pack & sip, give & giggle). Consider making a specific item by hand i.e. write letters, crochet earrings, whip up soaps, paint positive affirmation cards… the opportunities are endless!
