About 'It's in the Bag'
Our founder Rochelle came up with the idea for It’s in the Bag when cleaning out her bathroom cupboard. She popped all of her unwanted items into an old bag and donated it to a local charity. What started as a little idea has today grown to one of Australia’s most loved Christmas giving appeals.
Bags filled with the 7 key essentials are dropped into our collection points which are located within every Bunnings store during November annually. The bags collected are distributed through our 3000 charity partners that request bags from us.
Unfortunately, since COVID we have received requests surpassing 180,000 but are unable to collect anywhere near this number of bags to be able to fulfil the requests. The bags you pack during your event will help to bridge this gap. You can leave feeling rewarded that you are making a difference.

Who Your Donation Helps
Every single It's in the Bag donation has the potential to change someone's life.
For Kim, Linda, Helen, Li and Tamara an It's in the Bag donation arrived at the right time to give them some love as they fought through a traumatic time.
Hear directly from recipients about how just one bag has the power to give someone fleeing domestic violence or experiencing homelessness a little bit of love, a little bit of hope, and the dignity they deserve.
