Its In The Bag 2024

We're supporting Share the Dignity's #ItsInTheBag

This year we are supporting Share the Dignity's annual Christmas appeal #ItsInTheBag.

Each year these bags are donated to women and girls doing it tough. The bags are made up of so much love and care, filled with the basic essentials, period products, and so many more special gifts for people in need during Christmas time.

Please support us by making a donation. Your donations will mean that bags can be put together and donated on our behalf.

Share the Dignity

Share the Dignity works to make a real, on the ground difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. They distribute period products to those in need and work to end period poverty here in Australia.

When someone is doing it tough, the last thing on their mind should be dealing with their period.

They assist those in need by collecting thousands of period products each year through collection drives and campaigns and distribute them directly to charities across Australia.

Supporting a Cause with Heart: Balgowlah Pro Shop Fundraiser for “It’s In The Bag”

Monday 11th Nov

At Balgowlah Pro Shop, golf is more than just a game; it's about community, connection, and making a difference. Under the guidance of Head Professional Matthew Grenot, and with the support of his fiancé, Ashleigh Baron, Balgowlah Pro Shop is giving back by joining forces with the charity Share the Dignity to fundraise and collect donations for their annual campaign, “It’s In The Bag.”

What is “It’s In The Bag” by Share the Dignity?

Share the Dignity is an Australian charity that strives to ensure women experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, and poverty have access to essential products, and are treated with dignity and respect. One of their key initiatives is the “It’s In The Bag” campaign, where people are encouraged to donate filled handbags containing toiletries, personal care items, and other essential goods that can make a world of difference for women in need. The initiative not only provides critical resources but also reminds these women that they are valued and cared for.

A Local Effort with a Big Impact

This year, Matt and Ashleigh have committed to supporting Share the Dignity’s “It’s In The Bag” campaign through Balgowlah Pro Shop. Their involvement goes beyond just collecting donations—they are actively spreading awareness and encouraging the local community to get involved.

As Head Professional at the Pro Shop, Matthew brings his passion for community and service into every aspect of his role. He’s not just focused on improving golf swings and offering top-notch equipment; he’s equally dedicated to making a positive impact off the course. Along with Ashleigh, a Registered Nurse working within the Northern Beaches community, who is equally passionate about giving back, the couple has been instrumental in driving this campaign at the Pro Shop.

How You Can Get Involved:

The Pro Shop is a central collection point for donations, making it easy for members and local residents to participate in the cause. You can drop off your donated bags at the shop up until 30/11/2024, and in return, you’ll be supporting women who may be facing some of life’s toughest challenges.

Here’s how you can help:

Donate a Bag: Fill a new or pre-loved handbag with brand new, packaged toiletries, hygiene products, sanitary items, and other essentials. A simple gesture can make a huge difference.

Financial Donations:

If you’re unable to donate a bag, monetary donations are also appreciated. Every dollar helps Share the Dignity continue their mission to support women in need.

Spread the Word:

The more people who know about this campaign, the greater the impact. Share information about the campaign with friends and family, encouraging them to donate as well.

Why It Matters:

For Matthew and Ashleigh, supporting Share the Dignity is about more than just charity—it’s about standing together as a community to uplift those who need it most. As Ashleigh explains, “Offering a handbag filled with essentials can have a huge impact on a woman’s dignity and well-being. We want to help make that happen.”

It’s a cause that resonates deeply with the Balgowlah Pro Shop team, who see firsthand how even the smallest acts of kindness can create a ripple effect of positive change. Whether you’re a golfer or not, supporting “It’s In The Bag” is an opportunity to contribute to something meaningful.

Join the Cause at Balgowlah Pro Shop!

Whether you’re stopping by to grab some new golf gear or simply to donate, Balgowlah Pro Shop is making it easier than ever to get involved with Share the Dignity’s incredible work. Matthew, Ashleigh, and the team invite you to be part of this heartwarming effort that will make a lasting difference in the lives of women in need.

The “It’s In The Bag” campaign runs until 30th December for bag donations so there’s still plenty of time to contribute. Be sure to stop by Balgowlah Pro Shop and show your support—it’s a small way to make a big impact, and every donation counts.

Together, we can help ensure that every woman is treated with dignity and compassion, no matter their circumstances. Let’s come together and show the true spirit of community support.
