We're supporting Share the Dignity's #ItsInTheBag
This year we are supporting Share the Dignity's annual Christmas appeal #ItsInTheBag.
Each year these bags are donated to women, girls, and anyone who menstruates that are doing it tough. The bags are made up of so much love and care, filled with the basic essentials, period products, and so many more special gifts for people in need during Christmas time.
This campaign also overlaps with 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence. The Global 16 Days Campaign is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25th November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day.
Given that one of the main recipients of these donations include people fleeing domestic violence, it felt like the perfect charity for us to support.
Please support us by making a donation. Your donations will mean that bags can be put together and donated on our behalf.
We are also collecting physical donations at each of our sites which our staff volunteers will drop off to Bunnings to go to Share the Dignity. We are also looking to support similar local charities with direct donations where we can.
Share the Dignity
Share the Dignity works to make a real, on the ground difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. They distribute period products to those in need and work to end period poverty here in Australia.
When someone is doing it tough, the last thing on their mind should be dealing with their period.
They assist those in need by collecting thousands of period products each year through collection drives and campaigns and distribute them directly to charities across Australia.
